Counseling Corner

New Counselor: George Whittle High/Junior High School has a new counselor. Her name is Cynthia Peterson!  Please welcome her to our Lake Schools!

Undergraduates:

  • Mrs. Peterson will be meeting with students to select their classes for next year over the next couple months. 

  • If you would like to meet with your student’s counselor to discuss test scores, academic progress, course selection or college please call the school office to make an appointment. Feel free to contact Mrs. Peterson at cpeterso@dcsd.k12.nv.us

NCAA/NAIA

If you plan to play sports in college you must register with the NCAA clearinghouse or the NAIA clearinghouse depending on the school division.

Seniors:

  • FAFSA:  Please contact the counseling office if you need assistance filling out your FAFSA. www.fafsa.ed.gov 

  • Scholarship Information: Please login to your Naviance account and click on the Scholarship tab where you will find a long list of scholarships you may be interested in. 

College Acceptance: If you haven’t done so already, access Naviance and indicate what college(s) you’ve been accepted.
