Cross Country Highlights
"Warriors on three, Warriors on me, one, two, three.....WARRIORS" Jimmy Greene (9th grade) led the cheer as the Warrior Cross Country Team sprinted off the line in the Truckee Invitational. Lincoln Ayers (10th grade) led the team this weekend with a personal record time of 21:46 on a tough 5K (3.1 mile) course through the Ponderosa Golf Course. Zach Claypatch (10th grade), Chris Foderick (10th grade), Wyatt Miller (10th grade), and Jimmy Greene rounded out the top 5 Varsity Warriors. In the girls race, Jada Rojas (9th) grade finished 11th out of a field of 101 runners with an impressive 24:46 5K time. With 3 weeks to go until the Regional Championships, our Warrior runners are increasing their mileage and tempo. Their next race is on Oct 4th in Sparks. Let's Go!
Tahoe Star Tours’ Star leaders Tony and Casey set up three big scopes on the 50 yard line. Through out the evening the telescopes were pointed toward Saturn in the southern sky, Sagittarius constellation and the Milky Way band and Lagoon Nebula in the western sky.
This was such a great event that the Booster's club is looking forward to putting on this community event next year!
