Hi, I'm Transportation Supervisor Ron Christino with a few tips on safety and bus privileges.
Our drivers are trained in all aspects of school bus safety; however, we still need your help with safety in and around the school busses.
Parents driving their children to the bus stop should not pull up behind the bus when letting their children out.  It is very difficult for the driver to see cars and children to the rear of the buses.
The bus permission slip gives permission for your child to ride the bus from a particular bus stop.  It also helps us to reach you in case of an emergency.
A note will be required on the day of the change if y our child needs to get off the bus at a stop other than the one shown on the permission slip.  Please fill out the permission slip and return it to your childs' driver.  For your reference, here is a bus stop schedule.
Douglas County School District's first consideration in deciding if school will be held during inclement weather is the safety of the District's children.  All decisions at to whether or not school will be held shall be made as soon as possible, but no later than 6:30am.  Please visit the District's webpage where the snow day closures and delays information will be displayed.  Information on closures and delays will also be announced on the following television and radio stations.
Here's a printable version of important snow day information and procedures.
